Fun Fact

The cactus wren never drinks standing water — it gets everything it needs from insects and cactus fruit. The male builds multiple football-shaped nests throughout their territory, most of them decoys to confuse predators while the real nest stays hidden. They mate for life, defend their territory year-round, and have been documented attacking squirrels with enough force to impale them on cactus thorns. It's Arizona's state bird. Of course it is.
